It is getting close to the end. I have received the second draft with my edits from my editor. This is it. I am getting excited and nervous. The next step is to make the changes needed, then talk about publishing. I am struggling with the decision to self publish or try to find an agent and go the traditional route. I need to buckle down and get to promoting harder than before. I admit my lack of motivation has hindered me in many different ways. The only way to really achieve what you want, is to go out and get it. No one will come looking for you.

It gets frustrating when you get suck on a scene or get writer's block; even when your editor has made suggestions. It still happens. You want everything to be perfect.
Sometimes I have to take a step back to regather my thoughts, clear my mind so I can focus. One would think that an edited book with meaningful suggestions would be easy, however it is a guideline and in the end it is your book. It is feedback to put your book in the right direction. I looked at all the edit as a way to make the book shine, to bring it to its full potential. To be honest, I was a little nervous because this project is so important to me and I wanted it to be perfect. Ultimately, I realized the story has come together more now then it did in the beginning. |
