I try my best to keep up on what is going on in my writing journey, but it seems I have been lacking. I took a year off from publishing my trilogy-let's be honest, it was a lot-and decided to work on other projects. Projects I gave myself a deadline to finish, and that didn't happen. It made me feel like an imposter because for a better part of a month I didn't do any writing. I was in a funk. Last year was crazy for everyone and I sometime feel like I am at the tail end of it so I decided to buckle down and do whatever I can to feel my excitement to write again. I am happy to say I have started working on projects again and I am in the beginning stages of publishing my trilogy; I signed the contract to republish my first book and have my first meeting with my publisher the first week in February. I can't wait to get this trilogy out in the world and for people to be reintroduced to my characters, and introduced to some new characters in the coming books.
To say this has been a labor of love is an understatement. I rewrote the first book because I felt like it needed more. I loved my main character but after not "talking" to her for a few years I felt like she had grown and needed a book that gave her that edge she developed-I had grown too. The other characters also had growth spurts, and I needed to do them justice as well. That "growth" had to be blended into the other books and carry them on their own. I am happy to say I believe I did them justice. I am proud of the original first book, but I feel the new version kicks it up a notch. With the new year just starting, I know the enthusiasm will continue and I hope to participate in new ventures to bring my book to the masses. Hopefully to get a faithful audience to follow my journey. It's going to be a lot of work, but I am ready to start making those commitments.
